First of all CONGRATULATIONS on your engagement and upcoming wedding! It is such an exciting time in your life and we are honoured that you are here, looking at us as a potential vendor for your special day! Secondly, we totally know how overwhelmed you must be as Toronto and the surrounding area is blessed with so much talent when it comes to hair and makeup.
We at Dawna Boot Makeup are fully committed to making your bridal beauty dreams come true. How you look on your wedding day is just as important to us as it is to you. We carry top of the line products that ensure your hair and makeup’s longevity from morning to night. With a curated team of extremely talented individuals, we pride ourselves on listening to our clients needs, wants, and concerns to create a beauty look that has you feeling like the very best version of yourself.
Doing a trial is completely up to you and your comfort level, however ,we do recommend doing a trial ahead of time to fine tune all of the details we will need for your big day. If you do not want to do a trial we suggest a Skype or FaceTime call so we can ‘meet you’ and get an idea of what you are looking for.
We like to reserve 2 hours for your trial, per service.
We cover your skin/hair care strengths and weaknesses and what we suggest to include to make for the very best skin/hair ahead of your wedding day. We cover everything from skin care regime, facials, extensions, hair colour suggestions, etc.
From there, we build and create a look for you, with you, to ensure absolute perfection in your eyes with our guided expertise.
How to prep for a makeup trial:
To prep for your makeup trial, we request that you have clean skin with no makeup on it. A light moisturizer is fine to apply ahead of time (no sunscreen please). If you are at all concerned -bare skin is best as we will hydrate, prep and prime ahead of the makeup application. We ask that you provide styles of makeup looks that interest you and we will go over in detail what it is about each image that you like. We would also like to see a photo of yourself with makeup on, so we can get an idea of how you do your own makeup.
How to prep for a hair trial:
To prep for your hair trial we request clean hair that was washed the night before (with no conditioner) or morning of and blow dried. We ask that you put no product in your hair and please do not use curling irons or straighteners as it will affect the manageability of the hair. If you have extensions, please have them prepped and ready.* Please have your extensions washed and blow dried with no product in them. Please provide your stylist with images of how you think you would like your hair to be styled on your wedding day.
*New extensions fresh out of the package have a coating on them and therefore a hard time holding style.

We are mega beauty junkies here at Dawna Boot Makeup, and are always updating our kits to include the best products the industry has to offer. Brands included in our kits are: Armani, Viseart, Tom Ford, Too Faced, Charlotte Tilbury, Urban Decay Chanel, Nars, Face Atilier M.A.C, Givenchy, Natasha Denona, Sebastian, Marc Anthony, Schwarzkopf, Living Proof, Oribe, Ouai-the list goes on!
Your artist/stylist will arrive ahead of time to give themselves at least 15 minutes to set up their equipment before starting your glam. After prepping your skin/hair and discussing the look they will be creating, you can expect to sit back and be pampered.
If we are doing your bridal makeup, your skin will prepped with a mask suitable for your skin type, as well as a hydrating eye mask*, after which your makeup application will begin. Please estimate one hour per service (hair/makeup). Once everyone is completed, your artist will supply you with a touch up kit.
*This is a bride only service. We usually like to do this 15 minutes before you sit in our chair for your makeup application to prep the skin.
The full-day package takes the worry out of wondering if you will even have time in your beautiful day to reapply your lipstick! We are with you every step of the way making sure you are photo ready at a moment’s notice!
This package includes the brides hair and makeup, airbrush foundation and beautiful faux mink lashes for that fluffy doe eyed look we all love.
Your skin will be prepared with an appropriate mask depending on your skin type as well as an under eye masks to ensure your skin is looking soft and supple.*
Your artist will stay with you for the day for any and all touch-ups for you and your bridal party. Whether it’s before you walk down the aisle, after you have shed tears of joy at your ceremony, during your photoshoot with your partner/bridal party or before you enter your reception, we are here to make sure you look your very best at all times. While your photographer will catch the main details (such as a positioning, etc.), we will be sure that your dress looks seamless, that there are no hairs across your face, that your partners face is not shiny, etc. We are a second set of eyes making sure that no detail, however small, is overlooked.
We have over 15 years of experience on the set of editorial photoshoots, so our eyes have been trained to pay attention to the smallest details that make all of the difference.
Want to change your look before your reception? No problem at all! As long as you can allocate time to do so, we are happy to deliver! We depart 10 hours after our initial arrival, however, additional hours can be added at your request for an additional cost.

Yes, we supply false lashes if you would like them in either a strip or individual pieces. This is a complimentary services included in our makeup applications.
If you would like Mink lashes instead we do have those available at $35 a pair.
Yes we do offer airbrush foundation at an additional cost of $35 per person.
We will travel anywhere for your wedding day, however, a travel fee may apply. Please inquire if you have a request for a destination wedding.
We offer the first 30 km complimentary. Each kilometre thereafter is charged at $1.00 per kilometre, round trip.
If the schedule permits we will do our best to book artists closest to your getting ready location.
No, we do not charge to bring on an additional team member, however, an additional travel fee may apply.
Everyone on the Dawna Boot Makeup Team is the same rate. Dawna Boot Makeup is a boutique-style company with a limited number of artists. We value quality over quantity to ensure that you are getting the best possible artist/stylist available.
